Criminal Defense for Conspiracy Charges in St. Louis
The first mistake attorneys with little experience in federal criminal law make when handling a conspiracy is to ignore the actions of their clients. These attorneys focus on the “whole” conspiracy which generally consists of exceptionally high numbers for relevant conduct. To most people this makes sense, but the problem with this approach is that all criminal cases begin and end with the actions of a particular client. The first thing I do when I am retained to represent a client in a federal criminal conspiracy is to ascertain if a statement was made and then attack the statement. I also determine what grounds I have to fight any search warrant or Title III application. This will give me an idea of my client’s culpability which enables me to build the case from the ground up.
